Printer to Canvas - The Easiest Crafty Craft Ever!

So, Susie's room needed a little pick-me-up, so I decided to get some command strips and decorate the bare walls. I picked three already made pictures, but then decided to try a little craft to round it out.

I already had some tracing paper laying around. I loaded that into my printer and printed a picture right over the top of it. (I had to cut the paper a bit b/c it was too big to go in the printer).
On a flat canvas, I mod-podged bits of torn construction paper to make a kind of rustic looking background. Then, when the background was still wet, I just layed the picture right out top and smoothed out the air bubbles. (I left a few wrinkles - I think it gives it some character haha).

WARNING: Do not put mod-podge over the top of the picture - IT WILL SMEAR! The picture you see below is actually Take 2 haha. Y'all try it! It's super easy and fun!

Homemade Soup - Easy Easy Easy!!!

Hey Y'all! Susie Homemaker is back after a lovely winter break!!! Since returning to school, I have been desperately craving some homemade soup. However, they seem to have replaced our soup bar in the dining hall with a hot dog stand. So...I decided I'd attempt to make some!!!

Proverbs 31:15 "She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family, and portions for her female servants."

Trip to Walmart! I LOVE WALMART (almost as much as Target). I bought a crockpot (which are surprisingly inexpensive), and I was ready to go.

I salted and peppered my stew meat. Put in a can of dinced potatoes, tomato sauce, corn, sliced carrots, onions, some garlic, and a little dried basil. I left a little juice in each can so that there would be a broth for the soup.

I made it yesterday at lunch time. By breakfast this morning, the entire 7 qt crock pot was empty. I think it was a success! :) Haha!

Adorable Coasters!!!

K, so Whitney Wreathmaker (aka my amazing and craft sister) brought this idea to Susie. You can get these plain white bathroom tiles at Home Despot for $0.13 apiece! That's right! 13 cents a piece! CRAZY!

1) Cut a picture (on photo paper) or nice scrapbook paper out to fit the size of the tile
2) paint a medium coat of mod podge on the tile
3) place the photo (or paper) down and adjust
4) smooth it out to get out any air bubbles
5) paint with another coat of mod podge
6) let dry for 20 min or so
7) repeat steps 5-6 about 4 times give or take
8) spray with a coat of glass-finish spray paint (it's clear)
9) LET DRY and ENJOY!!!
