EASY Ombre T-shirt! CHEAP!

I felt very homemaker-y today. I did dishes, washed clothes, baked homemade bread, and wrapped it up with a super easy and fun craft!

I had extra purple dye from another project I did, so I decided to put it to good use. I found a plain white t-shirt I had gotten from the thrift store ($0.50) in my drawer, so naturally, I decided to dye it.

Steps:
     1) wet the shirt
     2) put a little bit of dye in warm water in the sink
     3) dip 80% of the shirt in the dye, wait 5 seconds, lift it out
     4) add a bit more dye and dip again, except farther down the shirt
     5) add a bit more dye and dip again even farther down the shirt (hold for about 30 seconds)
     6) add more dye and do the very bottom of the shirt, letting it soak in nice and dark
     7) let dry, then rinse out with soap (do not wash with other clothes or they will turn purple too!)

At this point, your shirt would be white on top and fade to purple. However, I was a spaz and dropped the entire shirt in the dye :/ So at that point, my shirt was all purple instead of the top being white :P It still turned out fine I think. You can always make do with mistakes.

Enjoy!

Happy Easter!
Susie
